Klartext Portal – The Information Site for HEIDENHAIN Controls

Highly detailed evaluation of machining results prior to actual machining

  • High resolution 3-D view
  • Tool paths as 3-D line graphics
  • Tool or workpiece transparency
  • Tool-specific coloring of the workpiece
  • Accentuation of edges
  • Point angle can be displayed
  • Cubic and rotationally symmetric blank definitions (e.g. tubes)
  • Milling and turning operations can be simulated

Improved surface quality with faster machining

NC data with an insufficient resolution and variable point density in adjacent paths can lead to feed rate fluctuations and errors on the workpiece surface

ADP – Advanced Dynamic Prediction improves the calculation of the optimum speed for a precise and smooth movement of the TCP.

  • Higher contour speed and shorter machining times
  • Superior surface quality

Optimized editor for clear and simple operation

With the new editor, NC programs can be created more easily. The editor is even more powerful, the handling of DXF files was simplified, and PDF files can be displayed directly on the control.

With the context-sensitive cutting data calculator, operators can calculate spindle speed and feed rate for the specific machining process and adopt these values directly into the open feed rate or speed dialog.

With smartSelect you enjoy dialog guidance for selecting functions quickly and easily that up to now were accessible only through the soft-key structure.

Horizontal machining

The TNC 640 offers significant advantages not only in vertical machining, but in horizontal machining as well. Among contributing factors are the Dynamic Efficiency functions. They make it possible to increase metal removal rates and are particularly effective during heavy machining and roughing, which also applies for horizontal machining.

Horizontal machining is commonly used in fully automated manufacturing processes, too. The TNC 640 also supports horizontal machining with numerous well proven functions, such as pallet machining. So that differing workpieces can be fed and machined in a defined sequence via handling systems. Beyond that, Connected Machining allows the easy integration of the control in automated manufacturing processes. This enables the TNC 640 to support uniformly digital order management in manufacturing.
