Block scan function for mid-program startup

NC FAQ1016

Question:

Sometimes the error message “Limit switch X, Y or Z” appears when I use the block scan function for mid-program startup.

Answer:

With mid-program startup the TNC first tries to ascertain the last programmed position between the re-entry point and the preceding programmed TOOL CALL. If no position values were programmed in this sequence, the TNC uses either the current tool position or a position specified by the machine tool builder in the machine parameters. If the position entered in the machine parameters is outside of the traverse range, the TNC issues the error message mentioned above.

Contact the machine tool builder’s service department to have the machine parameters adjusted.
