Symbiosis of efficiency and convenience:
The TNC for milling and turning
The TNC 640 combines the operational processes for milling and turning in one control. In the NC program, you can change as desired between turning and milling. The intelligent combination of milling and turning helps the user to save time and money.
And changing between turning and milling is particularly convenient and suited for daily use. The new and high-performance control is suited for HSC and 5-axis machining on machines with up to 18 axes.
- well designed keyboard
- elegant stainless steel housing
- soft keys both for the programming and the machine functions
- large 19-inch glass monitor.
3-D simulation graphics
The TNC 640 provides informative, detailed 3-D simulation graphics for both milling and turning operations. This allows you to evaluate in advance whether your machining program contains all necessary information, such as whether the machining operations run smoothly and the surfaces achieve the desired quality.
- Simulation of external and machine-generated NC programs
- Consideration of the actual machine kinematics
- Inspection of tool stock and tool calls
- Precise depiction of the workpiece
- Freely selectable view of details
- Permanent adjustment of viewing angles and viewing options during the ongoing simulation
ADP – Advanced Dynamic Prediction
NC data with an insufficient resolution and variable point density in adjacent paths can lead to feed rate fluctuations and errors on the workpiece surface. ADP – Advanced Dynamic Prediction improves the calculation of the optimum speed for a precise and smooth movement of the TCP.
- Higher contour speed and shorter machining times
- Superior surface quality
Optimized editor for clear and simple operation
With the new editor, NC programs can be created more easily. The editor is even more powerful, the handling of DXF files was simplified, and PDF files can be displayed directly on the control.
With the context-sensitive cutting data calculator, operators can calculate spindle speed and feed rate for the specific machining process and adopt these values directly into the open feed rate or speed dialog.
With smartSelect you enjoy dialog guidance for selecting functions quickly and easily that up to now were accessible only through the soft-key structure.
The TNC 640 offers significant advantages not only in vertical machining, but in horizontal machining as well. Among contributing factors are the Dynamic Efficiency functions. They make it possible to increase metal removal rates and are particularly effective during heavy machining and roughing, which also applies for horizontal machining.
Horizontal machining is commonly used in fully automated manufacturing processes, too. The TNC 640 also supports horizontal machining with numerous well proven functions, such as pallet machining. So that differing workpieces can be fed and machined in a defined sequence via handling systems. Beyond that, Connected Machining allows the easy integration of the control in automated manufacturing processes. This enables the TNC 640 to support uniformly digital order management in manufacturing.
Multi-Operation Machining: Turning and Milling in One Setup
On a milling/turning machine with the TNC 640, you can machine the complete workpiece at one time: milling, turning, milling, in whatever sequence is needed. The TNC 640 offers you powerful functions that enable you to switch the NC program as desired between turning and milling under program control. This enables you to decide with complete freedom how and when you want to combine the two machining methods.
