The Klartext programming language from HEIDENHAIN has been the conversational programming language or TNC controls since the introduction of the TNC 135 in 1979. This language was specifically developed for shopfloor-oriented programming directly at the machine. Instead of having to memorize complex G codes, users
are guided step by step through the creation of an NC program with the help of clear prompts, instructions, and selection options. Programming follows a structured approach: After defining the workpiece blank, the required tools are called, technology data is specified, and positioning movements are defined before machining of the workpiece begins. Contours can be described easily using linear and circular elements.
During program entry, the control continuously displays the appropriate cycles available for selection. Additional form-based views and graphical help screens simplify
parameter entry and help reduce programming errors. A clearly structured display with color coding improves program readability. Frequently recurring machining operations are available as predefined cycles, accelerating program creation. Another major advantage is the long-term compatibility: Klartext programs are upwardly compatible and can usually continue to be used on newer generations of controls. By combining intuitive conversational guidance, graphical support, and practical
shopfloor-oriented operation,
HEIDENHAIN’s Klartext programming language enables the fast, reliable, and efficient creation of machining programs.
