Functional Safety + PC-Tool TNCtest

Adaptation of functional safety (FS) of
HEIDENHAIN controls to machine tools

Course contents

  • Fundamentals of the HEIDENHAIN safety system
  • Basic circuit diagram
  • Safety-related operating modes
  • Safety and monitoring functions
  • Safety-related machine parameters
  • IOconfig on controls with functional safety (FS)
  • Fundamentals for creating and SPLC program
  • Example for implementing what is required of an SPLC program
  • Introduction and application of the PC tool "TestDesign" for the planning of acceptance test projects
  • Introduction and application of the PC tool "TNCtest" for the execution of acceptance tests

Please bring your own computer or notebook which must meet the following requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Zip-compatible extraction software
  • PC administrator rights to install software
  • USB connection with removable-media access
  • Ethernet connection with cable
  • Configured network environment (Ethernet TCP/IP)
  • Authorization for release of ports 19010 to 19034, otherwise authorization for temporary deactivation of the firewall (in this case, please contact your system administrator)

HEIDENHAIN cannot provide any computers or notebooks for the training course

Objectives of the course

  • The participants can adapt the functional safety (FS) of HEIDENHAIN controls to machine tools.
  • The course participants can define the sequences of an acceptance test with the "TestDesign" PC software, and can perform such an acceptance test with the "TNCtest" PC software.

Notes:

  • The contents of an acceptance test are derived from the risk analysis of a specific machine tool, and are therefore not within the scope of the course.
  • This PC software is primarily intended for HEIDENHAIN controls equipped with functional safety (FS). The PC software can also be used for HEIDENHAIN controls without functional safety (FS).

Target group

  • Only for electrical design engineers and PLC programmers of machine tool builders and retrofitters

Requirements

  • Profound knowledge of NC-controlled machine tools
  • Knowledge of electronics / electrical engineering
  • The participants must have a solid PLC background (PLCdesign and PLC basic program) and knowledge of the initial servicing of current TNC controls from HEIDENHAIN
